UAE University Games
Diligence and market-feasibility support for Mubadala’s UAE Clusters team, helping translate a national collegiate-sports initiative into a scalable operating and commercialization roadmap.
The institutional context
The UAE University Games initiative brought together national sports-development objectives, university participation, and the operating capabilities required to establish a recurring collegiate competition.
BoCG assisted Mubadala’s UAE Clusters team with diligence and market feasibility. Publicly documented implementation involved the UAE School and University Sports Federation and Abu Dhabi Entertainment Company, a Solutions+ subsidiary within the Mubadala group.
The diligence mandate
BoCG evaluated whether the concept could develop into a scalable sports and digital-media property rather than remain a single event. The work examined market relevance, stakeholder requirements, operating structure, commercialization potential, and the path to recurring execution.
This required a view across universities, government stakeholders, athletes, sponsors, media, governing bodies, and operating partners.
The platform design
BoCG defined the league vision, positioning, competition model, stakeholder framework, and phased three-year roadmap—from a national championship to emirate-level competition and a recurring national collegiate league.
The phased structure allowed the platform to validate participation, operating requirements, audience demand, and partner alignment before increasing complexity and geographic reach.
Commercialization and digital growth
A diversified commercial model incorporated sponsorships, media rights, ticketing, merchandising, licensing, grants, hospitality, concessions, and brand activations.
The supporting digital roadmap included AI-enabled personalization, fan participation, social growth, event management, and monetization capabilities. Together, these elements created a pathway from public-interest initiative to commercially sustainable national property.
The strategic outcome
The work established the foundation for a scalable national sports platform connecting education, competition, government priorities, commercial partners, and digital audiences.
It created a practical route from strategic ambition to operating structure: a defined property, sequenced growth plan, diversified revenue architecture, and clearer accountability for recurring execution.
Attribution note: Mubadala’s UAE Clusters team is identified as the engagement context for BoCG’s diligence and market-feasibility work. ADEC and Solutions+ are identified from the publicly documented implementation structure. The profile does not imply that BoCG controlled the initiative or caused its complete outcome.
